Starting January 8, 2025, all Canadians traveling to or transiting through the United Kingdom will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The UK government has introduced this new entry requirement to streamline and secure travel to the country.
If you’re planning a trip after this date, you’ll need to apply for an ETA before you depart. Applications open on November 27, 2024, and it’s important to ensure you apply using the same passport you intend to travel with.
The ETA is a mandatory step for Canadian travelers, so be sure to take care of it ahead of time to avoid any delays or issues at the border.
