On July 7, 2023, corresponding to 18 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1444 AH, in a remarkable display of cultural appreciation and inclusivity, Windsor City Hall in Canada proudly flies the flag of Eid Al-Ghadeer. This magnificent gesture, made possible by the efforts of the Imam Hussain Charitable Foundation in Windsor, not only highlights the significance of the Islamic holiday but also showcases the city’s commitment to embracing diversity and fostering a harmonious community.

Mayor Drew Dilkens, alongside community members, was present at the event, personally raising the flag, adding further importance and symbolism to this historic moment. This event marked the city’s second annual flag raising, a testament to its ongoing commitment to honoring Eid Al-Ghadeer and promoting cultural diversity.

Eid Al-Ghadeer holds great importance for Shia Muslims worldwide, commemorating the appointment of Imam Ali peace be upon him as the successor of Prophet Muhammad may Allah bless him and his progeny.
