Woodstock’s water supply has returned to normal as crews repaired the damage Monday afternoon. However, the town-wide boil order will remain in place until at least Thursday, said CAO Andrew Garnett.
He said the town delivered its first water samples for testing Tuesday morning, June 14, explaining they would need two clear tests on consecutive days to lift the boil order.
Garnett explained that if Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s samples meet health standards, the province could lift the boil order by Thursday.
He said the town would inform the residents as soon as the province approved lifting the boil order.
A water main break near the town’s wellhouse Sunday evening, June 12, left most Woodstock residents and businesses without water when they arose to begin the work week on Monday.
The lack of water forced schools and most restaurants to close. The Woodstock provincial court on Main Street cancelled scheduled court business for the day.
Woodstock public works crews worked through the night Sunday and Monday to repair the damage. The town posted a notice at 3 p.m. Monday reporting they fixed the water-main break and began flushing and filling the lines and water tanks.

By early Monday evening, water slowly started flowing from taps in all areas of town.
